In preparation for 2025 and all the great events we have planned, our Antlers helped sort, organize, and label over 3,000 children's books!  We are very excited for a great 2025 to come!

We sponsored the Haunted Library event and were able to distribute books, workbooks, and trick-or-treats to more than 300 children of the community while introducing them and their families to the resources of the local library!

Another amazing program!  We were able to donate enough coats and books for more than 150 local children to receive a book and a brand new warm coat through the Children's Department of the Johnson Public Library.  An amazing program by the library that we are so proud to be able to fund!

We attended National Night Out where we distributed more than 300 workbooks and just as many books to children of the community!

We hosted a Spring Book Fair at the Johnson Public Library! More than 200 children of the community attended and were able to have a fun filled afternoon, meet the library staff, be introduced to the programs and resources of the library, and everyone received new books and workbooks!

We were so proud to sponsor the Johnson Public Library's Community Baby Shower! We were able to donate family and baby supplies for expectant mothers and some really great door prizes.  Each family also left with board books and community resources!

Your local HELLO Box has addressed and postage paid postcards in them! We love receiving postcards from box visitors!

On November 18th the Hackensack Elks are hosting a coat distribution and book distribution.  Visit the lodge at 37 Linden Street between 10a and noon. Please email hackensackelks@gmail.com with a child's gender and size to reserve a coat.

HELLO Boxes throughout town were filled with goodies.  As the colder months approach, why not curl up with hot cocoa, a snack, and a good book?!

Two new boxes were installed--one on Fairmount Avenue and one on Kaplan Avenue! Visit our new boxes! Thank you to the volunteer hosts!

The HELLO Box Project and Hackensack Elks were sponsors of the Johnson Public Library's annual Haunted Library! Over 100 families attended for fun and games and all children received a trick-or-treat bag stuffed with goodies, a workbook, and a book!

The Hackensack Elks sponsored and funded a coat and book distribution at the Johnson Public Library.  Over 120 brand new coats were distributed along with workbooks and books in Spanish and English to children of the community!

Tonight, we attended National Night Out where we distributed more than 200 workbooks and just as many books to children of the community!

Today, the Elks hosted their annual pancake breakfast for the participants in last years' Hoop Shoot and Soccer Shoot competitions.  We distributed HELLO BOX mugs with hot cocoa, snacks, and books to everyone in attendance! We are so happy all these children will cozy up and enjoy some snacks and cocoa with a good book!

The Elks got in a big shipment of goodies! Be on the lookout for our "Cozy Up with a Book" giveaways!

Today, the Hackensack Elks sponsored a Community Baby Shower! Families of Hackensack were provided with diaper bags stocked with essentials and given board books for their children.  Families were also connected with programs and resources In the community.  Special thanks to Mari Zigas and the Children's Department at the Johnson Public Library for all of the hard work making this program a success!

The boxes have been getting a lot of visitors! Remember to share the boxes with friends and if posting photos tag the program!

We got plenty of new material and bilingual workbooks! Be on the lookout at your local box!

At long last, after a year of planning, grant writing, working with the City and residents, install day is here!  Today, 25 HELLO Boxes were installed around Hackensack!  We hope that the community enjoys and makes good use of this program!

Today, we installed posts for the little library boxes..... the boxes are all going to be installed THIS WEEK!

Today, we cut the plexiglass windows for the doors of the Library Boxes! They are almost completed!

We have placed stakes at all of the proposed box locations for the City to review.  Hopefully we will have final approvals soon and be able to get the boxes installed!

Today, volunteers from the Bergen Academies' "Project Books for All" club helped the Elks to paint our HELLO Boxes.  This was a big step in us getting closer to having the boxes ready for installation around town! Over the coming days we will touch up and give the boxes a second coat!

Today, we cut out and assembled 32 HELLO Boxes!  Once they are painted and the locations for the boxes is approved by the City, we will be able to get the little libraries installed around the City.

Today, we received a delivery of lumber to start building our boxes!

This evening, the City Council approved the prototype of our HELLO Boxes.
